Jewellery care

Each product is hand made and therefore unique. Some of the organic style items therefore vary slightly to form their unique character. The variety of finishes will change with wear, and I rather like how jewellery changes over time. However, if you want a finish renewed we are happy to do this for the cost of the postage.

Dust, pollution and daily wear all conspire to cloud the brilliance of a gemstone and dull the surface of precious metals. As with all fine things in life, you should take care to protect your jewellery and always store it in a fabric lined jewellery box, taking care not to drop, bash or scratch.

CARE TIPS

Always remove your jewellery when applying scent, lotions and potions, or even better, always put your jewellery on last when getting dressed. Please note that chlorine is especially damaging to jewellery.

Ensure that you rinse off any chemicals that come into contact with your jewellery straight away to avoid build up which can make cleaning difficult.

Store jewellery separately so that pieces do not tangle, rub or scratch against each other.

The majority of Kasasagi Jewellery is made from sterling silver. All silver can tarnish over time but it is easily remedied using a polishing cloth or polishing creams or dips. Chlorine and some lotions and perfumes can also cause silver to tarnish. If your jewellery has been oxidised (darkened) to make the prints/writing/inscriptions/artwork stand out DO NOT POLISH THESE AREAS as this will remove the oxidation. Over time the oxidation may soften to a grey colour. This is normal. Please be aware that silver is a soft metal is subject to scratching and as such should be treated with care.
